Drug Name: Detrol (Tolterodine)
Drug Uses: Detrol is used for treating overactive bladder with symptoms of urinary frequency, urgency, and leakage. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
How Taken: Use Detrol as directed by your doctor.
- Detrol may be taken by mouth with or without food.
- Take Detrol with water or another nonalcoholic liquid.
- Swallow this medication whole. Do not break, crush, or chew before swallowing.
- Continue to take Detrol even if you feel well. Do not miss any doses. Taking Detrol at the same time each day will help you to remember to take it.

Drug Class and Mechanism Detrol is an antimuscarinic agent. It works by blocking a chemical that causes contractions of the bladder.
Missed Dose If you miss a dose of Detrol , take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Storage Store Detrol at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C). Brief storage at temperatures between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is permitted. Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Detrol out of the reach of children and away from pets.
